Word of the day -- IT girl

First of all, what is an IT girll?

As for Wikipedia referred, "An It girl or It-girl is an attractive young woman who receives intense media coverage unrelated or disproportional to personal achievements. The reign of an "It girl" is usually temporary; some of the rising It girls will either become fully-fledged celebrities or their popularity will fade. The term "It boy", much less frequently used, is the male equivalent. This term is unrelated to the abbreviation IT."

For one of the noted fashion icon, Alexa Chung, a host slash a model, who kept receiving high reputation for her unique feminine style as "cool and edgy". Some coverage would be found to compare Alexa with other noted English model, Agyness Deyn, and both become top idols among teenagers.

A brief intro for her 'high street style' profile

And now, take a look at her talkshow, guested Tyra.

More videos from her deemed current boyfriend, vocal of from 'Arctic Monkey'

If you are impressed by it so much as I do, feel free to leave some further comments that I would love to appreciate and share with.

*postscript: on the day after my blogging, i've seen it very incidentally in the Taipei Times Style whole page reported Alexa Chung. Here is the link: http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/feat/archives/2010/12/01/2003489839 like it or not?

well, that sounds fair.

Wine, history, landscape: origin branding in Western Australia
Abel Duarte Alonso, Jeremy Northcote. British Food Journal. Bradford: 2009. Vol. 111, Iss. 11; pg. 1248

Abstract (Summary)

Wine is an integral part of so-called Old World nations, amalgamating with the local history and landscape, and providing a powerful origin branding. To date, however, these dimensions have been discussed to a very limited extent in emerging New World wine regions, where the lack of a traditional heritage of wine making presents special challenges in terms of origin branding. The focus of most previous research has been on the viewpoints of consumers, not those of producers. This study seeks to explore these dimensions among small wine growers. Using a qualitative approach, 42 interviews with winery operators from several emerging Western Australian wine regions were conducted. In the absence of historical wine pioneers and traditions, winery operators in emerging wine-producing regions use alternative means for origin branding that emphasise heritage and landscape characteristics centring on the wider rural idyll. These associations serve to forge a vintage identity for their industry, which essentially masks its youth for their region. In view of the more than 200 small wineries operating in Western Australia the number of respondents in the study may not allow for making generalisations of the state's wine industry. The current growth in the number of wineries in the regions studied and the increasingly acknowledged quality of their wine product may help towards the establishment of their history and identity, thus contributing to origin branding over time. The study explores the importance of history and landscape among winery operators in promoting their wineries and their wine products in the context of emerging wine regions, an area for the most part ignored in contemporary research.

nite!

Was sprechen Sie?

what's wrong today!!!

i've always kept things in mind,

for some reasons that i dont quite like taking notes.

not just cos i've been proud of my 'phenomenal' good memories,

it's just that sometimes it's been too much nerve-wracking to remember every single piece in lives.

but something unexpected just right there happened!!

i dont even know if it's right or not,

but what i trust in is that i dont have much lazy days left!!

it's just so not me!!!

but there've been so many notes i could bear in mind for so long.

that i dont think i would forget,

since the 'stange philosopher' first open enough to get a real human contact, why dont we give each other chances?

just like relationships so to say.

rambling cate, pointlessly, still tons of non-finished papers to grade.

we'll see.

Something More Than "Dismay" and "Regrets"

I am writing to spread the info through a precise inspection on the incident. If it's wrong, correct me, or add up more precise details. If my friends could be available to use English, feel free, for it is the one and only way to step out. Here I am calling people who wish to do something more than "endure" it just as the government "suggested". Nonsense opinions and crap talks, fuck off.
----

A disheartening news triggered by enormous injustice, insults and humiliation overwhelmed everyone in Taiwan yesterday. Obviously the WTF could not convince us by giving enough evidence; instead, they respond the press in extreme imprudence: "It's about 'personal privacy' that I cannot tell." And they even refuse to translate the question from the press penal. Likewise, many extremely "unexpected" and "unacceptable" sayings keep coming along, with overwhelmingly twisted and distorted "self-claimed facts", which tripled the "mysteries" behind the manipulation. To trace back the origin of the incident, plenty of "not officially spoken" issues should have been clarified through digging in details in precise inspection. Following are several arguments that has been misleading covered up the truths though some "illsional tricks".

1.Before the match, it is certain that the electronic socks has been approved in the pre-bout inspection, and also, the electronic socks is the exact kind of equipment authorized by WTF. (later on, as Taiwanese press asked them about this issue, they rejected to answer it by saying "it's a personal privacy." Also another rejection to ask the pre-bout inspector to meet them.)

2.As several reports mentioned the sensors, one of them is from BBC news, and the other one is from the Chinese official website of Asian Olympic Game.

  • "The World Taekwondo Federation defended its decision, saying the extra sensors had been removed from Ms Yang's socks before the match, but had been fixed back on."

  • 2. On the official websites of Asian Olympics:

However, at the very first beginning of the equipment check, the judge doubted the "sensors" of the socks, asked Yang to remove it immediately. (which the video shows "as clear as possible.")
Chinese version:

  • 1:45 Both sides started testing the sensors by kicking
  • 2:10 The bald judge got the direction and asked Yang to remove the 2 sensors
  • 2:28 Yang is accompanied by the bald judge to remove the sensors off the stage
  • 2:46 We could clearly see her couch Liu has removed the sensors and dropped it off under the chair
  • 3:06 Game started.
  • 5:44 The suit guy with the glasses saw Yang's legs
  • 6:28 The suit guy asked the bald guy to take the 2 sensors
It's is totally not the truth as the World Taekwondo Federation claimed on BBC news, and definitely not the cases as the Chinese described. There is no doubt extremely insulting movement they've done to pass out the wrong info throughout the world.

English version:

3.As the rules of WTF, if the equipment is not qualified, the judge could ask them to change; the judge could pause the game, wait for players to change the equipment. If this effects the game, the played could be given a warning. "IF THIS IS VERY SERIOUS, DEDUCT 1 POINT FOR PUNISHMENT."

It is absolutely ridiculous to drop out Yang from the game throughout the history. Not to mention Yang has been leading the game by 9:0.

4.Every equipment has been passed by checking 3 times with the signatures on it.

5.After the match, the manufacture of the electronic socks (1 of the 5 manufactures in the world) said "it is nothing wrong with the equipment, and it is definitely recognized by the WTF" to confirm the validity of the socks.

Although as a "vague country" for decades, Taiwan has still struggled towards a brighter future, hoping for one day we could be seriously looked upon. Although we are not rich enough and powerful enough to compete with them, we believe that "soft powers" could be cultivated by training ourselves in sports, art, and other ways. Although we do not do well on everything, we know how to "respect".

As soon as I heard our government claimed that we should "endure" it, I soon realize, "Is it hard to explain why we always stand in a lower position among other countries? I don't think so."
